Remote Cell Site Management
Market Overview
Managing thousands of remote cell sites is a common challenge for cellular carriers.

Sites in remote or rural coverage areas, which account for up to a quarter of a carrier's sites, require expensive maintenance visits. Adding new cell sites in urban and suburban areas require carriers to optimize existing cell sites - a need that will grow with an estimated 100,000 new cell sites by 2018.

Besides expensive site visits and increasing site optimization, carriers bear other significant maintenance costs. Carriers must monitor and manage heating and air conditioning systems, generators and backup power supplies, as well as cell site security. Coordinating maintenance activities and the material to support those activities add significant costs, too.

Obviously, carriers desire a cell site solution with low operational costs that still provides cell site equipment connectivity, easy connectivity and device management.

The MASTERseries™ does that and more. Outfitted with the FM16 module, the MASTERseries provides six Ethernet ports for remote device connectivity. Its integrated router and support for NAT and DHCP make the MASTERseries perfect for connecting with other devices and connecting other devices with each other, and for managing all of the connected devices with the single management interface. And since your team can manage sites via in-band connectivity, the need for onsite personnel is reduced.
